Danny Mac’s on Main Street in Lahinch is a versatile spot blending a bar, café, and full-service restaurant all under one roof, making it a convenient stop for a range of local dining needs. From early mornings to evening drinks, it caters well to families, casual diners, and small groups seeking hearty meals in a relaxed, unpretentious setting.

The atmosphere here is comfortably informal with a welcoming, family-friendly vibe that clearly appeals to locals and visitors alike. It’s the kind of place where servers recognize regulars and make newcomers feel at ease, creating a sense of community amid the casual buzz. Seating is somewhat limited, so during peak times—especially around traditional breakfast hours or busy weekend lunches—a short wait is to be expected, but the attentive staff work to keep things moving smoothly.

Breakfast draws a steady crowd, often travelers looking for a classic Irish start to the day, with generous portions of favorites like the Full Irish Breakfast or the Surfer’s Breakfast, which pairs well with a strong coffee or an Irish Coffee later in the day. Lunchtime and dinner menus offer comfort food with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients, evident in dishes like the seafood chowder, fish and chips, and chicken curry. The seafood options stand out, reflecting Lahinch’s coastal location, with reliable preparations of sea bass and Liscanner Bay specialties making their way to the table.

Families appreciate the kid-friendly options, including a small dedicated menu, and the informal layout makes it easy to stop in with children in tow. The full bar also makes Danny Mac’s a solid choice for a pint of Guinness or a casual evening drink, blending a neighborhood bar’s laid-back demeanor with restaurant-quality food.

Overall, Danny Mac’s suits anyone looking for a straightforward, hearty meal without fuss, especially after outdoor activities nearby like walking the cliffs. Mid-morning to early evening are the best times to visit if you want to avoid waits while still soaking in the local buzz. Whether it’s a coffee, a lunch break, or a casual dinner, Danny Mac’s fits comfortably into Lahinch’s rhythm as a place where locals and visitors intersect over good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Comfy family friendly environment. Service was great! We enjoyed our meals. 1/2 order of ribs with slaw and Penne Pasta with chicken. Dessert was an apple fritter with vanilla ice cream. Delis.

Food was quite good (my only note was that there were very few mushrooms in the chicken and mushroom vol au vents). The chowder was fantastic. There’s not a ton of sitting though, so be prepared to wait 20-30 min during busy hours. The servers were great and helped speed along the process as we waited for a table to open up.

We stopped in for breakfast this morning after checking out of our accommodations. We were told to stop at Danny Mac’s for a traditional breakfast. We were not disappointed. We ordered two of the Surfers Breakfasts and added bacon. The plate was delicious and the perfect portion. Great friendly service. Great atmosphere. The servers one names of so many people stopping in. This is the perfect place to grab a bite!

After a long day of walking along the cliffs of Moher, we decided to pop down to lahinch for a late lunch. Here we stumbled upon Danny Macs. Some of us to the daily special (fish chowder and buttered cod.) while the rest had standard menu options. Overall we where quiet surprised by the quality of the ingredients which was pristine, with the Guinness being quite goof as well. All the fish and meat was of high quality. With ribs that came straight off the bone. Everything severed with generous portions. One place which wasn’t as good was the Chips, which where a little undercooked and lacked that needed crunch. As well as one of us would have preferred more seasoning in the burger and for it to be less simple. Also a little too much salad with each dish.

Great little spot for breakfast , lunch or dinner. Unfussy casual atmosphere with filling food and full bar. Enjoyed the chicken curry and on another occasion had breakfast. Kids have their own menu and loved the fish! Well worth a visit.

We had such a great meal at Danny Mac’s! The lamb shank was tender and full of flavor, the grilled fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, and we finished with an apple crumble that was warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious. To top it all off, the Irish coffee was one of the best we’ve ever had: rich, smooth, and the perfect ending to the meal. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had that cozy, authentic Irish charm. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

Had one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. Huge portion sizes for very reasonable prices. Staff were very kind and attentive. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.

This place is amazing. The food is so DELICIOUS, and the picture of the empty plate is the evidence that it was all eaten. I loved the food, and the portion was so generous. We went in, and all the tables were seated, but the kind owner invited us to eat at the bar section. He refused to let us go away hungry. The lovely waitress brought water immediately and she was so kind and friendly. Lovely lady. We had a lovely chat with the owner, who was so friendly and welcoming. The food came in a good time. The chicken dish was amazing, and it came with three sides (salad, chips, and coleslaw). We had lovely zero alcohol beer and Coke. My sister ordered Caesar salad, and it was so nice and fresh. The prices were very reasonable and the food quality was really high. The place is so clean. I highly recommend this place. After we had our food, we enjoyed a lovely walk by the sea.
